Carester is a French rare earth separation technology company that developed and commercialised Membrane Solvent Extraction (MSX) - a next-generation enclosed-system separation process that eliminates open solvent tanks and raffinate discharge ponds. The company operates the Caremag joint venture plant at the Induslacq industrial basin in Lacq, France, focused on separating heavy rare earth elements (Dy, Tb, NdPr) from ionic clay feedstock. Carester technology has been adopted for the Serra Verde - USA Rare Earth European supply chain corridor and for the France-Japan Critical Minerals Roadmap offtake to JOGMEC.
