Market Description

Mischmetal is an unseparated rare earth alloy typically containing cerium (~50%), lanthanum (~25%), neodymium (~18%), and praseodymium (~7%). It is used in steel desulfurization, pyrophoric lighter flints, and as a battery electrode additive. Mischmetal commands low prices and trades in high volumes.
