Scandium International Mining Corp (TSX: SCY) is a Canadian company focused exclusively on scandium, the lightest of the rare earth elements. The company owns the Nyngan Scandium Project in New South Wales, Australia - one of the world's highest-grade, largest scandium-only deposits. The Nyngan orebody is a scandiferous laterite formed by deep weathering of mafic/ultramafic host rocks, with scandium concentrated in the saprolite horizon. The company completed a positive pre-feasibility study targeting approximately 38 tonnes per year of scandium oxide (ScO3).
