Mountain Pass REO Production

Rare Earth Oxide (REO) concentrate produced at Mountain Pass represents the single largest source of rare earth materials in the Western Hemisphere. The Bastnaesite ore is mined, crushed, milled, and processed via flotation to produce a high-purity concentrate.

Historically, this concentrate was sold to Chinese refiners for separation. However, MP Materials is now progressively feeding this concentrate into its own local separation facilities to produce separated NdPr oxide, closing the loop on a fully US-based supply chain.

What the Chart Shows

  Blue Bars (REO Concentrate Production)

  The volume of REO Concentrate produced in tonnes. This measures the output of the Stage 1 flotation circuit. High volumes here provide the feedstock necessary for downstream separation.

  Red Line (Sales Revenue)

  Revenue displayed is the specific revenue attributable to REO Concentrate sales. Starting FY25 Q3, revenue drops to zero as production is fully consumed internally for downstream separation. See the NdPr Production Chart for the resulting separated product sales.
